My Educational
Background
Dr. William Herr, originally from Northwest Ohio, earned his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the Ohio State University. He soon enrolled at the University of Maryland’s School of Dentistry, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
It was during his time in dental school that Dr. Herr realized he had a real passion for the fields of prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and oral surgery. For his commitment and excellence in the field, Dr. Herr earned the opportunity to take part in a year-long implant prosthodontics and oral surgery clerkship.
After graduating, Dr. Herr was honored to attend the Veteran Administration’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program. There, he provided crucial dental care to area veteran men and women with complex medical histories and received advanced training in all aspects of dentistry — with a special focus on oral surgery, implants, endodontic treatment (root canals), and periodontal surgeries for repairing gum tissue.
Since completing his formal education and training, Dr. Herr has completed hundreds of hours in continuing education. He remains committed to staying attuned to the latest advancements in dentistry through his involvement in the Academy of General Dentistry (as the Massachusetts Vice President and appointed Delegate) and as a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society’s Leadership Institute.
